New Delhi, Dec 23 (PTI) Prem Chand Lochab's election to secretary general's post is in violation of WFI's constitution and he is now preventing the growth of wrestling in the country by demanding a postponement of the junior Nationals, said Darshan Lal, who had lost to him in the recent polls, on Saturday.
Despite the election of Sanjay Singh as the new chief of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), the national camps and competitions will resume, bringing relief to the wrestling community. Wrestlers had pushed for a woman president, but Singh, a Brij Bhushan loyalist, emerged victorious. The sport had been on hold for 11 months due to leadership issues, impacting many wrestlers career opportunities and progress.
