Weymouth Veterans Services Director George Pontes said there is an intense desire among residents to honor fallen military personnel on Memorial Day, May 31, with a rolling parade despite the coronavirus pandemic.
“It will begin at Weymouth High School to incorporate more of the town,” he said. “The police and school department are very supportive and responding to the requests of residents.”
Pontes said the parade route would begin at the high school instead of Broad Street to allow more people to see the procession.
The procession gets underway at 11 a.m. and will proceed from the high school down Pleasant Street toward Jackson Square.
