Parade, virtual ceremonies for 2021 Weyburn Comp Grad

The student-parent committee is planning the other aspects of the day, which will include a parade at 1:30 p.m., and a Grand March at the fairgrounds at 3:30 p.m. The plans are also to have fireworks around 10 p.m. at the fairgrounds. The parade will be a more traditional form, unlike the reverse parade of last year down Saskatchewan Drive, as it will feature the graduates on floats or in vehicles. The parade will follow the same route as the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce’s Parade of Lights, which begins from the fairgrounds, goes up Prairie Avenue to Third Street, and then goes through the downtown area and back up Second Street to Bison Avenue, and ends at Government Road.

Weyburn Comp student company Bubble Up hopes to clean up

“We are currently processing orders received last week. We have nearly met our sales goal for Bubble Up and are super excited to be working with the Weyburn Salvation Army, as 10 per cent of the total sales earnings will be given to them,” said Jamie Borshowa, co-president of the student company, along with Risa Burdan. “We have introduced a limited-edition scent, which is Peppermint for $9.50,” she said. “We also have Bubble Bundles for $24. For the Bubble Bundles we are using our original scents (lavender, coconut, lemongrass, and unscented) and colours can be customized (pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple), but not the limited-edition Peppermint.”

Weyburn engineering student awarded memorial scholarship

Arliss stated, “It is a humbling experience to have the responsibility of leading others. As one is growing as a person they see the effect that their actions and attitudes have on others and it motivates them to become the best version of themselves. The different leadership roles I have held have shaped me into what I believe is a strong role model and ambassador for women in Engineering.”
