During the environmental report presented to councillors at the January meeting of Gorey Kilmuckridge Municipal District, they were told that the surveys on the Ahare River have been delayed due to the current health restrictions.
Councillors heard that the survey works will be rescheduled when the current lockdown lifts, which is likely to be sometime in March.
Also in line with regulations, spokesperson for the environment section of Wexford County Council Cliona Connelly said that registrations for community clean-ups can only be made by family groups or individuals during Level 5.
Councillors praised the increased use of local walking trails, particularly during the current lockdown, but Cllr Diarmuid Devereux asked whether it was permitted for horses to use these trails. He expressed concern over risk and asked if signs could be put up.
