WESTFORD Amid continuing challenges wrought by the COVID crisis, Westford Academy seniors graduated, taking their diplomas and countless memories with them on the next step of their journey.
The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 took place June 5, at Westford Academy s Trustees Field postponed a day, due to questionable weather.
Resiliency amid change
Class President Viraj Jayaraman said, During my time at Westford Academy I’ve taken many classes, but the most important truth that I’ve learned is that education is much more than academics. I’ve learned to be confident in what I know, and comfortable with what I don’t yet.

Why are you running for this office?
I have been thinking about this for a long time if I should run for election. Eventually, the prospect of putting Westford Public Schools on the right track and moving the school system forward ultimately overweighed other considerations. I am willing to put in my time and effort to work with the entire committee and school administration to ensure the great work will continue, and even greater work will advance.
What is the greatest challenge facing the town?

WESTFORD, MA Michael Colson, a Westford Academy history teacher is accused of harassing a Westford mother online through fake Facebook and email accounts. Colson, the former president of the Westford Education Association, was set to be arraigned on Feb. 10, but it was moved to Feb. 24.
Colson s attorney Lissa McKinney did not immediately respond to request for comment from Patch Wednesday.
