Police say they were responding to a Home Invasion in the 600 block of park avenue when two men sped off in a car, leading officers on a high speed chase. It all came to an end here, at 63rd and park. Where the car crashed into a ditch. Officers say the chase reached speeds of 70 Miles Per Hour at points, so they put down stop sticks. With flat tires, the driver tried to turn onto 63rd. But their tires spun out. The men quickly escaped the car and ran into a nearby wooded area. Officers were able to follow their footprints in the fresh powder and arrest them soon after. The driver now faces charges of traffic violations and felon in possession of a firearm. High pressure will move into place by this afternoon, which will bring a surge of cold air to start the weekend. The winds will be picking up close to 20 mph causing the light snow to blow and giving the state dangerous wind chills. A wind chill advisory is in effect for areas north of i80 starting at 6 pm and lasting until 8 am saturday. The cold air mass and the strong winds will make it feel close to 30 by early saturday.
