West Pinchbeck group s appeal to buy adapted trap so disabled can enjoy carriage driving

More disabled people will be able to experience the joy of carriage driving if a group can purchase an additional adapted trap.
Four Winds Accessible Riding Group has launched an appeal to raise up to £7,000 to fund a wheelchair adapted trap to provide an opportunity for more people to have a go behind the reins.
The group, which is based at Four Winds Equestrian Centre in Leaveslake Drove,West Pinchbeck, currently has one trap which is owned by Sense but it is hoped that by providing a second it will make the sport more accessible for more riders.

School pupils in South Holland donned their festive jumpers to raise money for charities while enjoying Christmas-themed fun.
Youngsters at St Bartholomewâs CE Primary School in West Pinchbeck celebrated Christmas Jumper Day, on Friday, December 11, and in doing so raised money for The Childrenâs Society.
Pupils at University Academy Long Sutton also wore their jumpers on Christmas Jumper Day as part of a week of festive cheer.

Pupils were able to wear a Christmas jumper or decorate a plain jumper for a bit of fun and donate £1, raising a total of £210 for Save the Children.
West Pinchbeck villager is fed-up with 18 months of roadworks

A villager is calling for an end to the constant stream of roadworks which have been taking place in his community for 18 months.
Anthony Helcoop has become fed-up with having to travel around the long diversions while roads are shut in West Pinchbeck as Anglian Water hooks more people up to its new sewage system.
The water firm finished installing the £10million new system earlier this year in order to tackle environmental problems in the area.

One lucky family has a scene similar to Narnia growing near their home which they are sharing with customers who are buying their Christmas trees.
Stephen and Hayley Willerton have been growing Christmas trees at The Alpine and Grass Nursery in Northgate, West Pinchbeck, for 20 years.
They started off with 2,000 trees in 2000 but now the three acre site looks similar to a forest with a range of non-needle drop Nordman trees and traditional spruces.

Mrs Willerton, who also grows ornamental grasses and alpine, says people began to pick out their trees from mid November.
Spalding Lions bring some festive cheer to Donington with their Santa Sleigh Run

Festive cheer brought smiles to the faces of children and their families when Santa Claus came to town.
Following a gloomy 2020, Spalding Lions and their Santa Sleigh run has never been more important to help give communities in the villages around the area a big boost in the run-up to Christmas.
And it was much appreciated in Donington on Monday night when lots of families crowded in their windows or left the warmth of their houses to enjoy some socially distanced festive spirit and wave at Santa as his musical sleigh passed.
