Gosberton Risegate pub rallies behind a West Pinchbeck riding school

A pub is helping to support a riding school which is struggling in the current lockdown.
Four Winds Equestrian Centre, in Leaveslake Drove, West Pinchbeck, has launched a fundraising appeal to help support its horses and ponies through the current lockdown when it is unable to earn an income by providing lessons.
The Black Horse, which is run by mother and daughter team Sandra Anderson and Crystal Millar in Siltside, Gosberton Risegate, is getting behind the appeal by raffling off a three course meal for two when restrictions are lifted for pubs.
Former primary school headteacher from Bourne denies child sex charges

A former Lincolnshire primary school headteacher today (Thursday, February 4) denied child sex charges when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court.
James Shawley, 44, who was headteacher at St Bartholomew Primary School in West Pinchbeck, pleaded not guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a 14-year-old child.
He denied two charges of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Shawley also pleaded not guilty to a fourth charge of attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a child sex offence by arranging to meet someone he believed to be a 14-year-old child in Huntingdon with the intention of having sex with the child.

after news that around nine per cent of children in the UK do not have access to a computer in the home.
The idea of the âClear Out to Help Outâ scheme is that residents and businesses donate unwanted equipment for families who do not have the technology, or sponsor internet access.

A flood alert remains in place this morning for parts of South Holland.
The Government Flood Warning System says that flooding is possible for the South Forty Foot Drain area, which includes Twenty, West Pinchbeck, Gosberton Clough, Swineshead and Kirton.
Flood alerts were were in place for the Lower Welland, Lower Glen and Bourne Eau systems yesterday have now been lifted.

The flood alert states: Over the last few days we have seen heavy rainfall in the South Forty Foot Drain area. This has caused river levels to rise which has led to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river.
