Lompoc police seek information on second homicide of 2021 as detectives continue search for suspects LOMPOC, Calif. – The Lompoc Police Department is asking for the public s help in gathering information on Thursday evening s homicide. The department is on its second day investigating the incident. At around 5:35 p.m., Officers responded to a call of shots fired on the 600 block of West Maple Avenue, near North N St. Upon arrival, a 28-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to Lompoc Police. At this time, it s still too early to say it was gang-related or not, said Sergeant Vincent Magallon. We re still on the preliminary investigation trying to determine what the motive behind the shooting was.

Officers responded to the 600 block of West Maple Avenue near North N Street around 5:35 p.m. Upon arriving, police said they found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his vehicle. He was transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center where he sadly passed away from his wounds. Detectives responded and began conducting interviews and collecting evidence. The suspects in this shooting are still at large. Officers said a vehicle believed to belong to one of the suspects was seen leaving the scene.

Man Found Shot to Death Inside Vehicle in Lompoc

Detectives responded to the scene and began conducting interviews and collecting evidence. They also alerted other law enforcement officers to be on the lookout for a vehicle, but it wasn t immediately clear whether it was related to the homicide or another incident. Later Thursday night, authorities responded to a vehicle fire west of the city at West Ocean and Legge avenues and were trying to determine whether it was linked to the homicide. Authorities plan to release the name of the victim after notification of family members. The investigation is ongoing. Police asked that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has surveillance video in the surrounding area to contact the Lompoc Police Department at 805.736.2341.

Lompoc Police are investigating a fatal shooting. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of North M Street and West Maple Avenue around 5:35 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a male victim in his vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The 28-year-old would later die from his wounds. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lompoc Police Department.
