Kolkata, March 24: West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu on Friday said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will ultimately decide on whether there will be a probe to find out whether the wife of CPI-M Central Committee member and former leader of Left legislative parties in the Assembly Sujan Chakraborty was appointed in a prime college in Kolkata flouting recruitment norms.
The West Bengal government will appoint an agency for a study after the number of candidates appearing for the Class 10 state board examination dropped by 36.41 per cent this year, said state Education Minister Bratya Basu.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) released its manifesto for the Tripura Assembly elections on Sunday promising two lakh new jobs, Rs 1,000 per month for school students in Classes IV to VIII and unemployed youths and social welfare schemes on the lines of those in West Bengal.
