The Stinson Prairie Arts Council held a morning art exhibit for Kossuth County High Schoolers on Monday, April 15 at the Algona Publishing Gallery. Students from Algona High School, West Bend-Mallard High School and Bishop Garrigan High School competed for cash prizes with their favorite piece they created this year.
First place from Algona High School was Breanna Abendroth with her drawing entitled Dissonance. (First picture below)

ALGONA Olivia Frankl of Algona High School won the Best of Show award at the Stinson Prairie Arts Council (SPAC) Student Art Show and reception on Friday, April 23.
Entries from Algona High School, Bishop Garrigan High School and West Bend-Mallard High School were on display at Eastland Hills Plaza last Friday morning in conjunction with the Chamber Coffee hosted by SPAC.

MALLARD When the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mallard closed in 2018, many in the town of less than 300 people assumed it might just sit vacant.
But Phil Harris, owner of Harris Funeral Home, had a different idea.
