WELLS, Maine – An incumbent, a former selectman, and two newcomers all have their eyes on two available seats on the Wells Board of Selectmen during the annual town meeting on Tuesday, June 8.
Kathleen Chase, the incumbent, is seeking her third term on the board. Robert Foley, the former selectman and state legislator, is hoping to return to the board. Julianna Acheson and William Martin are appearing on a local ballot for the first time.
Current Board Chair Karl Ekstedt, whose term is up June 30, has opted not to seek reelection.

Chase, who owns a local art gallery and gravel excavation business with her husband, Wayne, said she is running because she enjoys being a member of the select board – she loves people, she loves community, she added.
