Rising temperatures, humidity and pop-up rain chances

We’re in for a pretty quiet week with just our typical summertime pattern in store. That will consist of warm air, moisture/high humidity and isolated pop-up showers and storms each day. Pop-up activity will occur mainly in the afternoon hours, especially with the sea breeze and outflow boundaries. Majority of the Panhandle will stay dry this week with some lucky folks winning the “rain lottery.”

We're in for a pretty quiet week with just our typical summertime pattern in store. That will consist of warm air, moisture/high humidity and isolated pop-up showers and storms each day. High temperatures are likely to reach the low-mid 80s for our coastal areas and near 90 inland. Factoring in the humidity, it will feel about 5 degrees hotter than the actual air temperature. Fog will develop in the morning.

Good morning and happy Friday! You'll be seeing more clouds across the sky today than you have all this week. That's due to an increase in moisture across the Panhandle and a storm system developing to our northwest. A Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) is moving into Mississippi and charging southeast early this morning. The system will likely be weakening as it approaches the Gulf of Mexico,

Dry today, humid and warm weather this weekend

With a bit of a breezy and dry air over the Panhandle, it will be dangerous to do any outdoor burning. Please avoid doing so if you can. Moisture will increase Thursday as the winds shift to the south. This will add humidity back to the area making it feel even warmer than the air temperature. Enough moisture should work into the area by the weekend for the sea breeze to pop up a few showers or storms.

Dry and warm work week ahead

Quiet weather is in store for most of the week thanks to high pressure and a ridging pattern setting up across the Gulf Coast and southeastern United States. Monday through Friday will feature mostly sunny skies across the Panhandle. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 70s for our coastal highs, low-mid 80s inland. Morning lows will generally be in the low 50s and 60s.
