Today, i.e. on June 24, mostly southern parts will see more rains including the cities of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Mahabaleshwar, Dapoli, Raigad. Mumbai may also see, but heavy showers are ruled out.
Currently, heat wave will remain for eastern pockets of Vidarbha for at least the next couple of days. Thereafter, there is a possibility of rains around June 11 to 13, which may give some relief from the current heat conditions. However, these showers will remain on the lighter side, and nothing significant is expected.
There may be light rain activity over Konkan and Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra in coming days. Isolated thunderstorm or light rain may occur over Vidarbha and Marathwada around May 26 and 27. Most parts of North Madhya Maharashtra will remain dry and hot.
However, as far as parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are concerned, maximum temperatures have started to settle above the normal levels over these areas. Thus, heat wave conditions are set to make a comeback over these areas.
Heat wave conditions in the state of Maharashtra are expected to last for another four to five days. Vidarbha being the hottest pocket in Maharashtra will continue to remain so. The reason being that Western Disturbance has moved away, and even the incoming ones will only be confined to the hills.
