Apan Music Awards: BTS bags Daesang, NCT 127 wins Artist of the Year [Check out Full winners list]

BTS - 5 Things You Didn’t Know About The K-pop Boy Band The BTS has bagged yet another honour after winning the Daesang (Grand Prize) at the Apan Music Awards. The event was held at the Kyunghee University Grand Peace Palace in South Korea on Sunday, 24 January. Twitter/BTS official Kim Jong Kook and Jeon So Min-hosted show was originally scheduled to be held in November 2020, but it got postponed due to Covid-19. Since the situation has improved, the organisers decided to hold the event by taking precautionary measures. The Apan Star Awards and Apan Music Awards took place without a live crowd and non-face-to-face event. The theme of this year was Thank You So Much. The organizers want to show their gratitude to the fans across the globe for their love and affection for the K-pop and to show their solidarity to the people struggling during the tough times due to Covid-19.

Hosted by Kim Jong Kook and Jun So Min, the 2020 APAN Music Awards took place on January 24. The 2020 APAN Awards (which includes both the Star Awards and the Music Awards) were originally scheduled to be held in November, but were postponed due to COVID-19. The 2020 APAN Star Awards took place on January 23 (check out the winners here) and the 2020 APAN Music Awards took place on January 24. Most of the winners were announced in advance, including the winners of popular vote categories, the Top 10 artists, and the APAN Choice awards. The Top 10 artists were chosen through a combination of popularity votes, the artists’ achievements with physical albums and digital releases in 2020, and scores from judges. Best Icon, Best Performance, Best Music Video, Best All-Rounder, the Idol Champ Awards, and the KT Seezn Star Award were all determined through popularity votes.
