A MURAL of Captain Sir Tom Moore painted on a garage door in Studley has now become a memorial to the late fundraiser. Residents have been leaving flowers outside the home on Watts Road, with many visiting to pay their respects to the national icon who died on Tuesday (February 2) at the age of 100. Amateur artists Daryl and Claire Lancaster painted a silhouette of Captain Tom on their garage door in May last year. It has since become a landmark in the area and was a sign of hope during the first lockdown, with residents flocking to see it on their walks. Claire, who works as a school teacher, says their mural has now taken on a new meaning.
