Private schoolboys accused of sickening knife attack on Sydney father face court

07:24 EDT, 16 March 2021 26 shares A group of private school teenagers allegedly involved in a sickening knife attack that left a father-of-one blind in one eye have had their charges downgraded. Brett Halcro, 36, was walking through a park in Pyrmont, inner Sydney, on July 31 last year when he was allegedly knocked to the ground before being bashed unconscious and stomped on. A 16-year-old boy, who is a student at the prestigious Barker College, then allegedly pulled a knife and sliced Mr Halcro across the face up to seven times before driving the blade deep into his right eye.  Nine teens were charged by police, with all but two of them appearing before a Sydney children s court on Tuesday, charged with affray and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, News Corp reported.

Sydney's best last-minute seafood buys for Christmas

Photo: Edwina Pickles From Victorian rock flathead to West Australian bar cod, there s a plethora of seafood available in Sydney for Christmas says chef Josh Niland. I m a bit shocked by it actually, says the owner of Paddington s Saint Peter restaurant and seafood shop Fish Butchery. Traditionally, summer is a season where you re clutching at straws to find a plate-sized snapper. It s nice to see so much abundance. With retail demand for seafood up on last Christmas, the plentiful supply also favours fishmongers.
