A group of private school teenagers allegedly involved in a sickening knife attack that left a father-of-one blind in one eye have had their charges downgraded.
Brett Halcro, 36, was walking through a park in Pyrmont, inner Sydney, on July 31 last year when he was allegedly knocked to the ground before being bashed unconscious and stomped on.
A 16-year-old boy, who is a student at the prestigious Barker College, then allegedly pulled a knife and sliced Mr Halcro across the face up to seven times before driving the blade deep into his right eye.
Nine teens were charged by police, with all but two of them appearing before a Sydney children s court on Tuesday, charged with affray and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, News Corp reported.
