More than 90,000 people have registered for vaccinations through Polk County s online portal, and about 28,000 have been assigned appointments, Riley said. Her office estimates that 15,000 on the list either received prior vaccination elsewhere or are duplicates. That leaves a projected balance of 47,300 awaiting appointments for vaccinations, Riley said. Polk County now ranks 14th among Florida’s 67 counties for the number of vaccinations. More than 3.4 million vaccine doses had been administered in Florida through Sunday, the state agency reported, with more than 2.3 million people vaccinated.
