Construction projects on tap at University Park this summer

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. As students head home for the summer, Penn State’s Office of Physical Plant (OPP) will turn its attention to a wide range of campus construction and renovation projects at University Park.
OPP, along with Penn State Transportation Services and project contractors, will work to minimize disruptions to the campus community wherever possible. OPP updates an interactive construction map identifying construction projects across campus and the Campus Visitor Map also offers capital project construction information.

Under the contract, contractor Allen & Bolack Excavating will abandon the wet well and associated pumping a the Hilton Lift Station, install a water service to the Biogas Building at the Water Reclamation Facility and install knife gate valves at the Kirkcaldy Lift Station for a price of $489,672.26.

The Pueblo City Council considered a first presentation on an ordinance to approve a license agreement between the city and Bird Rides, the shared electric scooter company that is proposing to bring a fleet of 200 scooters to town.
The ordinance calls for Bird to pay the city an initial annual license fee of $500 and renewal license fees of $200 each year after. Additionally, Bird would pay the city 10 cents per ride completed during the preceding year when they apply for renewal.
Within the Cambria community, there are two views of the intended use of the Community Services District s advanced water treatment facility: Either it s meant to support future growth, or it serves as insurance in the event of a drought. The facility s current permit, which is temporary, says it can only run during a stage 3 water shortage emergency.
