The Apple TV OS 17.2 update was recently released. This update aims to bring all your movies and TV shows together in one place to make it easier for you to find what you want to watch. Although the iTunes Movies and iTunes TV apps still appear on the Apple TV home screen, clicking on them will display a message that reads "iTunes Movies (or TV) and Your Purchases have moved." The message states, "You can buy or rent movies and find your purchases in the Apple TV app." The same is true when you click on the store in the iTunes iPhone or iPad app.
The recent Apple TV OS 17.2 update aims to bring all your movies and TV shows together in one place to make it easier for you to find what you want to watch. Purchasing movies and TV will no longer be done in iTunes but in the Apple TV app, and a new sidebar and way to search helps aggregate and access content from different sources.
Today, Apple has seen fit to release watchOS 10.2, macOS 14.2, tvOS 17.2, and HomePod 17.2 Software Update to the general public on compatible devices.
