“We have prepared well ahead of tomorrow’s [Tuesday’s] Uganda Cup return leg against URA,” Bbosa told the club’s official website ahead of the clash.
“The target is to avoid conceding but score as well because it’s important we use our chances; the focus is to advance to the quarter-finals.”
On his part, goalkeeper Denis Otim has said the fixture is not won yet because URA can change the tide, but maintained their main target is to reach the last eight of the competition.
“We won the first leg but I want to appreciate my teammates for the good fight because they managed to fight and come back to win 2-1,” Otim told the same portal.
“We have managed a 2-1 win today [Saturday] but it doesn’t mean this is all over,” Bbosa told the club’s official website after the game.
“We have a return leg, we have a few days but we are going back to correct our mistakes, generally the boys concentrated and earned the win.”
On his part, captain Enock Walusimbi echoed coach Bbosa’s sentiments by stating the job is not done yet despite the 2-1 win.
“We have managed to win because we concentrated, the early goal destabilised us a bit but the boys showed a lot of mental strength but the job is not done yet,” Walusimbi told the same portal.
“Firstly, I thank the coaches for the trust which enabled me to make my debut,” Kusiima told the club’s social media pages. “It was a dream debut to me because I kept a clean sheet and most importantly the team won.
“I am glad that I have contributed to more clean sheets [12 now across all competitions] and I look forward to doing better when given the opportunity again.”
The Red Eagles took the lead in the game courtesy of Kambale, who stepped up and controlled Martin Kizza’s pass before he calmly slotted home with a powerful left-footed strike.
