Bublr Bikes set to add roughly 200 electric bikes later this summer

Bublr Bikes is set to expand service to more areas throughout Milwaukee County and will add roughly 200 electric-assist bikes to its fleet in July.  The Department of Public Works, Bublr, and community partners spent the last two years deciding where to expand. They settled on all areas of the city, including multiple stations on North King Drive, the Washington Park Library, and the Urban Ecology Center. All 26 new stations can be found here.  The new station sites were chosen following several public meetings where residents shared their ideas. Some sites will fill in gaps in the existing bike-share system, but the majority will be placed in neighborhoods that currently don’t have access to Bublr.

COVID-19: Wisconsin could pay residents to get vaccine

Milwaukee vaccine clinics to open at three public libraries

View Comments Editor s note: This story has been updated to reflect a new start date and hours for the library vaccinations.  The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases continues to decline across Wisconsin as the Milwaukee Health Department prepares to open vaccine clinics at three public libraries starting Monday. This consistent presence at our community libraries is part of our initiative to bring vaccines to where people are, and we hope this will be a great opportunity for parents to get their children vaccinated as well, Milwaukee Health Commissioner Kirsten Johnson said. Zablocki Library, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave., and Washington Park Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd., will host vaccine clinics on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
