Washington Page On today’s program we’re talking with Washington County Public Health Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski about COVID-19 vaccination and National Public Health Week. This is part one of a two-part interview.

All Health Adults in Iowa Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccine this Monday

Governor Kim Reynolds announced this week that all Iowans 16 years and older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine this coming Monday. Iowans 16 years and older can receive a Pfizer vaccine and those 18 and older can get the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Washington County Public Health Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski says her department is continuing to work through the county’s 65 years and older population, the tiered groups in Phase 1B, and those with underlying conditions first. Once public health is finished with those groups then they will move onto healthy adults, but Pettit-Majewski advises on other ways residents can schedule a vaccine appointment, “So my recommendation is that if you or a loved one falls into that category you can go to vaccinefinder.org to find COVID-19 vaccine locations near you. So that you can find where you might be able to get a Pfizer dose, where you might be able to get a Moderna dose depending on your age and preference
