During the first 6 seasons of the Modern Era, Jack Taylor established a pitching record that never has been seriously.
On Friday, the Cubs allowed 4 unearned runs while losing at San Francisco and those were the only runs scored by the Giants.
That was a long way from the most runs that the Cubs have.
