Airport police had closed off this entire area, the bag claim, while hazmat checked out an unknown substance. Heres what authorities are telling us this started just before 7 pm. Airline personnel altered suspicious bag had come in on a flight from chicago. The bag area was closed off a little while after. Hazmat was called in to investigate. That unidentified substance was tested. Authorities say it was determined to be non hazardous. The bag claimed area reopened around 4 a. M. No one
Later learned 20yearold Nathan Messer and 22yearold Seth Anderson were trapped on the top floor and died in that house fire. Lyon learned early this afternoon two men now 28yearold chris yenger and 27yearold zachary dye were arrested and are being held in the Wapello County jail each charged with two counts of felony murder for the deadly 2006 house fire. An investigation involving the one below county sheriff, Wapello County sheriff, the Iowa Division of criminal investigation and state fire marshall led to mondays arrests of yenger and dye. Dci special agent Mike Motsinger says this was a cold case not a forgotten case. It just goes to show when people think they get away with murder we are always there, always willing to look at things and hopefully everyone is looking over their shoulders, because we do take things seriously and take homicides seriously and will find them.
