Living in the Marvel Cinematic Universe must be terrifying. It is a world full of superhuman, god-like beings who answer to no one; a near-Lovecraftian existence where threats from beyond the cosmos are constantly in danger of crashing through and swallowing up everything and everyone. The MCU is a reality where half of humanity can be snapped out of existence – only to return years later to find a world that’s moved on without them. To live in the MCU is to live in a constant state of existential dread. Every now and then, the MCU films will casually address this terrifying truth – and usually shrug it all off with a pithy quip.

Well, that sure was a doozie. For the next-to-last episode of “WandaVision” on Disney+, we got a bit of a lore dump as Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) took a trip through Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) past. One of the biggest things we learned was that, actually, Wanda did NOT steal Vision’s body from S.W.O.R.D.

Since the Disney-Fox merger, fans have been wondering how the Marvel Cinematic Universe would bring the X-Men into the fold. We might have gotten an answer on “WandaVision” when Evan Peters, who played Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver in the “X-Men” films “Days of Future Past,” “Apocalypse” and “Dark Phoenix,” showed up at the very end. And now, Monica Rambeau’s arrival on the scene as the superhero Spectrum makes it seem more and more likely that this Pietro really could be Pietro.

Through the first five episodes of “WandaVision,” each of the fake commercials we’ve been getting every week were references to Wanda’s past. But things got weird with that “Yo-Magic” yogurt ad last week, and in Episode 7 we got one that seems pretty hugely significant: an antidepressant called Nexus.
“Feeling depressed? Like the world goes on without you? Do you just want to be left alone? Ask your doctor about Nexus. A unique antidepressant that works to anchor you back to your reality. Or the reality of your choice,” the narrator says.
