Happened in North Charleston, South Carolina this past saturday. The officer was charged this afternoon. We want to warn you that video is graphic and were only going to show you parts of it but in it you can see the officer 33 year old Michael Slager shooting a blackman as he ran away. In a matter of seconds the video shows the officer pointing his gunfiring eight times at 50 year old Walter Scott Shooting him in the back as he ran away. The video is very demonstrate ever of exactly what happened. The mayor of North Charleston said the video from a bystander helped to determine exactly what happened leading to those murder charges. Weve got 343 Police Officers in our department. This is a bad decision by one of those 343. The whole incident began saturday afternoon here in this parking lot after officer slager stopped scott for a traffic violation. The cop pulled someone over. All of a sudden the doors swung open. Officer charged with murder. Michael slager joined the force six years ago. Personnel records show a complaint against him two years ago for improper use of force with a taser. Slager was exonerated but the man who filed the complaint and his attorney spoke today about what they call a systematic problem within the police department. We believe that as the citizens start listening were going to uncover other instances of where there have been aggressive behavior. Reporter investigators and the public continue to scrutinize cell phone video of the shooting. One big question why does slager appear to retrieve an object from the ground near where the shots were fired and drop it by scotts body . The scott family attorney believes that object was the taser slager initially used to try to subdue scott. He then took that back to where mr.
