I want to take a minute to help the folks that helped me with my Reelection Campaign it was tough thank you folks for sticking with me the guy who clapping third time around didnt have an on the but still you put together a great race. No council members, staff. Thank you i just like to make maybe two quick comments. One is that i think we all lost a little bit of ground during the economic down turn and the city had to reset some priorities at that time, but i really do feel with the recent commitment to the Capital Planning program that the city has really stepped up to fund this very important work at the levels that are necessary and i think that is due really in large part to john paul advocacy and also his incredibly efficient project management. Ive spoken to the planning staff and they see the mod projects actually as a model for how you should identify a project, then do a feasible study and then the design and the construction so you really move a project over multiple years, but always with the best of information so that you get the best bang for your buck so i want to thank you John Paul Scott for your really excellent work on this project. Any questions . Thank you very much. Council members, chip. Yes, please. Hi john paul. This was a comprehensive report and a lot of numbers flying around, but i was i wanted to ask about the General Hospital situation. Will that entire campus be ada compliant when youre finished with this or certain buildings . We have many different programs going on at the same time. Some of the buildings are 1920s and theres no way to make them completely ada compliant. So what we have to do is burial removal. Where we have public services, programs for the public, were bringing those all into accessibility. The patient rooms will move to the new hospital and all of those have useable, accessibility. Theres full patient rooms. Were leaving, for example, the Mental Health services so were going in there to make accessible showers and toilets as apart of our work. The university of california is doing work. Theyre spending millions of dollars at the statement time but they focus their money on where t
Shelter and im making sure that the needs of the most vulnerable residents are being addressed and we are doing so in a culturally confident linguisticly manner. So i appreciate the work that you folks have done. I share your concerns. We are moving forward and in september we are doing a tabletop exercise with the math care group for the city and county of San Francisco thats going to be including mod and well have its going to be a tabletop exercise where we present several is a scenario and were going to sit down with them and make sure the issues with those with disabled will be addressed.
