Xmas party turns into an Oscars knees-up

There’s probably not been a local Christmas work do like it.
As Arrowtown builder Triple Star Management held its party at Gibbston’s Waitiri Creek last Friday, Registered Master Builders (RMB) was holding its national ‘virtual’ House of the Year Awards.
Having picked up the southern region ‘house of the year’ and three category awards which also won national category awards for a $10 million new-build at Queenstown’s Closeburn, the company was in the finals.
But owner Pete Campbell had ‘‘written off’’ its chances.
Office manager Anna Hockey monitored proceedings on a tiny laptop as the WiFi connection cut in and out.
