Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma says chief of All India United Democratic Front wants to become CM Perfume baron Badruddin Ajmal appears to be the flavour of the poll season for rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In campaign after campaign, the saffron party has attacked Mr. Ajmal, president of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and a Lok Sabha member. The AIUDF is a constituent of the 10-party Mahajot or grand alliance headed by the Congress in Assam.
Campaigning for his party candidate in Barhampur on Wednesday, the State’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma devoted much of his speech to the AIUDF chief.

CM continues to address roadshows in city ahead of bypolls
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday addressed roadshows in Seelampur, Kondli, and Trilokpuri ahead of municipal corporation by-elections to five seats on February 28.
“AAP is the only party to challenge the BJP across the nation. If you vote for AAP, your councillor will work with our government for the development of Delhi,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by AAP candidate from ward Chauhan Bangar 41E Mohammad Isharaq Khan, candidate from Kalyanpuri 8E Dhirendra (Bunty Gautam), and candidate from Trilokpuri East 2E Vijay Kumar.

NEW DELHI: As the Congress government in Puducherry fell after losing majority, senior BJP ministers and leaders took a dig at Rahul Gandhi saying it was due to his Midas touch that the party lost power in the Union Territory soon after his visit.
The Congress government in Puducherry fell on Monday after Chief Minister V Narayanasamy resigned ahead of the confidence vote in the Assembly with the coalition ministry reduced to a minority due to a spate of resignations of party MLAs and a DMK legislator recently.
