reports that attorney general merrick garland deliberated for weeks before approving the warrant application. now, garland faces an even more daunting and consequential decision, that is whether to pursue criminal charges against the former president. now that decision is amplified as an fbi organization representative warns that growing calls for violence against law enforcement are, quote, real and imminent. the fbi investigating an unprecedented number of threats to bureau personnel and property in the wake of the court authorized search of mar-a-lago. also this morning, rudy giuliani firing back after prosecutors in georgia tell him that he is a target of the special grand jury there. we ll have more on that in a moment. let s begin this morning, here in washington, cnn senior crime and justice reporter katelyn polantz tracking all the latest developments. the justice department is making clear just how serious this investigation is. what do we know about where it sta
at this stage. reporter: right. well, it would be rare to make a search warrant affidavit public, but we are at a point where there is a push for transparency, not just on capitol hill, but the media, including cnn. in court the justice department made a set of arguments and really a couple little details about this investigation that they re saying should keep this affidavit secret, confidential, only for their eyes and for the judge s eyes. in their filing yesterday, they wrote if disclosed, the affidavit would serve as a road map to the government s ongoing investigation, providing specific details about its direction and likely course in a manner that is highly likely to compromise future investigative steps. we know too they have disclosed in this filing yesterday that they are using witnesses already, that they have spoken with, they re using a grand jury in this investigation, and that they also are looking for to make sure there aren t future witnesses whose infor

no justice no peace! police expected to release body cam footage in the shooting jalen walker this afternoon. the public has legitimate questions, i have questions. the 25 year old was killed by police last monday following a car and foot chase. police say that walker shot at officers during the chase, later finding a gun in his car. the family attorney says that seen the v and there s no evidence for those claims. but reloads and full clip and all him within six seconds. coachella says that officers fired more than 90 shot, striking walker more than 60 times. walker s cousin has also seen the footage. i broke down after that. it was just, it was just shocking. police said walker posed a deadly threat starting with the refusal to comply with the traffic stop. the pursuit ending in a parking lot where walker was handcuffed. he s talking a shot, as we get shot he falls on the ground. he is not cuffed in till after the gunfire abates. is there any chance
