7 and a half million renovation is part of the clean and safe Neighbors Park Fund which was on the ballot four years ago and look at how that Public Investment has transformed our neighborhood. The playground is unique in that it serves a number of age groups, unlike many of the other properties, it serves small children with the childrens play grounds and clubhouses that has basketball courts, it has an outdoor soccer field and so there were a lot of people that came to the table that had their wish list and we did our best to make sure that we kind of divided up spaces and made sure that we kept the old features of the playground but we were able to enhance all of those features. The playground and the soccer field and the tennis fields and it is such a key part of this neighborhood. We want kids to be here. We want families to be here and we want people to have athletic opportunities. We are given a real responsibility to insure that the publics money is used appropriately and that
No sense to buy a new fleet and not be able to maintain it so there has to be an appropriate capacity to do that and the budget to do the maintenance as well and that is another issue. But from the standpoint of the Transportation Authority and the funding we are pleased to be a partner in that as soon as those issues are addressed. I also would like to and im really glad that the union brought up the issue of operator rest rooms and because even under prop k, the money that was ear marked for operator rest room thises is a serious issue in the city that the operators needs to have the ability to go to a rest room at the end of the line or somewhere, safely, and in a dignitied, way and we see the buses double parked, and the issues with the operator rest rooms that the mta and even before it was just mun i has had decade long Engagement Process and it is difficult to find in the neighbor as to where to locate these facilities, whether it is the end of the line or other places there is

[music] paratransit is specialized transportation for seniors and people with disabilities who are unable to use the muni system. In San Francisco, were proud that weve had a Paratransit Program since 1978 long before it was mandated by the americans with disabilities act in 1990. San francisco is a unique city and our Paratransit Program reflects this. We have a network of services, including sf access van service, paratransit taxi, including Wheelchair Accessible ramp taxi and group van which serves groups of individuals going to a single location like a senior center. I use paratransit because, ive been using it for about six years because six years ago i had to start dialysis treatments at cpmc. So im very dependent on paratransit three times a week, coming and going. My current driver is brian berquist. ; hes just such a friendly, sort of a teddy bear kind of a guy. Its a great place to come and talk about solar energy because we are in the forefront of certainly the rest of the states, probably in fact, certainly in the western hemisphere, california is in the lead. And thats important. But being in the lead doesnt mean weve arrived at the goal. Got a long way to go and i hope the work you do here, the conversations, the relationships that are formed can help advance the cause of solar energy and Renewable Energy or generally.
