Kari Cahill extracts pigments and inks from the landscape to use in her paintings. Imagine it, colours extracted from land you hold dear - your favourite location, your hometown or where you got engaged - used to create a bespoke painting. A tangible connection to that environment.
Kari (originally from Cork, but living in Sligo) creates these abstract paintings using pigments, inks and paints derived directly from the landscape, harnessing the abundance of colour to be found in the natural environment.
From wild berries, rocks, seaweed, lichen and barks to discarded copper remnants, she has built up a unique site-specific paintbox of colour. Her high quality artworks add value aesthetically and culturally to homes and spaces.
