Vistara on Sunday said it is scaling back its operations by 25-30 flights per day to ease the pressure on pilots, underlining that the airline, hit by delays, has improved its on-time performance over the last few days.
A stretched roster on account of the high utilisation of pilots is the key reason for the recent disruptions, according to the airline while there are also concerns among a section of pilots about the new contract that will also result in pay revision.
According to reports, Vistara Chief Executive Officer Vinod Kannan held a virtual meeting with the pilots on April 3, amidst a standoff with pilots over compensation issues.
Due to the "non-availability of crew", Vistara has decided to temporarily reduce the number of flights it operates to "ensure adequate connectivity across our network"
