In the last few days, Vistara had to cancel more than 100 flights because many pilots called in sick after new salary rules were announced, leading to a shortage of on-duty pilots.
Vistara has told striking pilots that salaries for "extra working hours" will be credited post-integration with Air India's roster and asked them to call off the strike
According to reports, Vistara Chief Executive Officer Vinod Kannan held a virtual meeting with the pilots on April 3, amidst a standoff with pilots over compensation issues.
Vistara says it remains committed to attracting and retaining competent talent to support its expanding operations, while Akasa Air plans to ramp up its headcount to 3,000 from about 2,500 now.
