Sarnia-Lambton’s latest COVID-19 victims, reported Tuesday by public health officials, died several days earlier.
A person age 80-plus died Sunday and another local resident over age 60 died this past Thursday, a Lambton public health spokesperson confirmed via email.

“Occasionally, there can be some time delays between the death and reporting of it due to the need to review the case history carefully and ensure we are classifying it correctly,” Kelly Francis wrote.
They both died in hospital, Francis said.

For the second consecutive day, there were another 10 COVID-19 cases reported in Lambton public health’s daily update.
Saturday’s report increased the cumulative total to 1,827 since the pandemic began. There were another 27 resolved cases for a total of 1,700. The number of active cases fell 17 to 90. The total number of outbreaks increased one to nine.
