right now. and gerry baker on the president s positioning or shall we say repositioning right now. welcome, everybody. i m neil cavuto. this is your world. let s get to it. fighting crime is the theme for the president today. but is this the answer? maybe 100,000 more cops could be. let s go to ted williams on that. good to see you, ted. what do you make at what the president is proposing? good to see you also. martha: what do you think of what the president is talking about? 100,000 more police. we have to be serious about crime. it s a big worry. seems to be a pivot during the campaign. that was then. this is now. what do you think? well, you re right. he said other things during the campaign. now i believe that we may be on the right track, neil. i think 100,000 police officers over a five-year period is very much needed in these major metropolitan cities. the very problem though they have are the local politicians. as you know, neil, president biden has never call
me wrong. i don t think you re an evil person or indifferent person. but what you re losing sight of is paying for something by opening a credit like, bragging about it and bringing down our deficit to a trillion dollar and saying the ship has come in and that trillion dollars that w isd enough to pay for this. but it s not new money coming in. it s tapping a visa line with a mastercard line. it s our line. it s our money. important for folks to understand that a lot of this money was not being repaid. these are often people that have not finished college, weren t repaying it. the deficit was there. what the administration is saying by forgiving it, you won t destroy their credit so they can be a functioning neil: but not everyone is forgiven. someone pays for this. this notion that it s manna from heaven is just added to the debt. that is something that all americans share responsibility

professors and the people who can pay for their own health care. there s a reason it doesn t. that s the passion and purpose that formed this country. i don t have to preach this to you. you know this. look, if you ve ever served on the visa line in the state department or been the recipient of applications, you will see that the american government and first year foreign service officers deny millions of people. this is not about who gets denied. this is about who gets entry. and i can understand your compassion that you think we re denying these people, but i would argue that you have to understand what your limit is, chris. i would ask you the question again, what is the limit? are you saying no policy whatsoever because no matter what criteria you use, you re denying people to come into this country, which is really going to happen under any policy. i mean, you can t just say that we should have this touchy-feely
