VIRGINIA, Minn. – One person was hospitalized after a house fire in Virginia Thursday evening.
According to reports from the Northland FireWire, the fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. on the 300 block of First Street North.
The fire was contained in the kitchen and living room of the house.
The sole woman occupant was taken to the hospital by ambulance for possible smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. The lead investigator into the arson fire that killed a member of the West Virginia Air National Guard says the investigation is progressing in hopes of finding those responsible for setting the blaze.

State Deputy Fire Marshal Jason Baltic said Tuesday the investigative team, which includes state police, sheriff’s deputies and the federal ATF, has already conducted some interviews with more scheduled. They’ve also retrieved video surveillance.
“It’s a very large investigation at this point,” Baltic said during a Tuesday appearance on MetroNews “Talkline.”
