A Yukon judge has dismissed a legal challenge of the territory's Civil Emergency Measures Act (CEMA), the legislation used to create and enforce public health rules and restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anthony Andre’s lawyer argued in the Yukon Court of Appeal Thursday that his trial judge didn’t fully consider the evidence before convicting him on three counts of impaired driving-related charges.
A consent dismissal order, signed by the three residents who launched the legal action and the lawyer representing the bakery, was filed to the Yukon Supreme Court on Sept. 1.
