Panel Lawyer, M.S. Mir acted as a Resource Person and Advocate Ajay Salalia was the moderator in the said program.
The Resource Person discussed in detail about the evolution of the concept of Lok Adalats, their purpose and significance and also the role of Lok Adalats in providing access to justice.
Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Reasi presented the Vote of Thanks to the participants at the end of the program. The online program was organized as per the Mandate of the Calendar of the programs of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority for the month of July under the project “Access to Justice for J&K” (Phase-II).

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a meeting to discuss and finalise the District Environment Plan envisaging a host of activities to be taken up by different departments.
The Environment plan has been formulated in consonance with the National Green Tribunal guidelines for improvement of the environment.
The District Development Commissioner said the plan aims at improving overall parameters of the environment in the district, including widespread plantation initiatives, measures to curb the use of plastic/ polythene, improving the disposal of solid waste and hospital waste, community participation and mass awareness, strengthening Green Clubs, soil and moisture conservation, water conservation, measures aimed at curbing air and water pollution, curb the illegal mining etc.

The influential magazine “The Economist” recently carried a story about India’s environment “ “Why is India one of the most polluted countries on Earth” The “Economic Times” followed this with a story headlined “India alarmingly filthy even by standards of poor countries”.
Nobody living here can deny it. Most of our lakes and rivers are severely poisoned with urban and chemical effluents. The air in most of the cities, particularly in North India is polluted well beyond the severe level prescribed.
