MSDFS partners with iGovTT to Launch its Automated Senior Citizens Pension Process
Pensioners will now have the opportunity to apply for their Senior Citizens’ Pension (SCP) via an online automated process.
This new arrangement entitled “Automated Senior Citizens’ Pension Process” was sealed during an official launch ceremony, on Monday March 29, 2021 at the Chaguanas ttconnect Service Centre, after being formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) and iGovTT. Through this collaboration, persons who qualify for SCP may apply by emailing all necessary documents to ttconnect thus allowing citizens to apply for this service without leaving the comfort of their homes. The initiative will encourage older persons, who are more vulnerable to contracting the coronavirus, to avoid lining up at the social welfare district offices, especially now as COVID-19 restrictions for social distancing are stil

Social Development outreach continues in Point Fortin

Minister of Social Development and Family Services Donna Cox visited Point Fortin on Monday, when she held several meetings and visits to various stakeholders in the area.
In a release, the ministry said Cox was accompanied by permanent secretaries Jacinta Bailey-Sobers, Sheila Seecharan, and deputy permanent secretary Vijay Gangapersad.
They met with Point Fortin MP Kennedy Richards Jr at Techier Road and Point Fortin Mayor Saleema Thomas at the borough corporation’s headquarters in Mahaica.
The meeting with Richards was “to discuss matters of mutual interest in an efforts, to ensure that no one is left behind.”

th, 2021, Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Senator, the Honourable Donna Cox joined by her Executive Team at the Ministry, comprising Permanent Secretaries Jacinta Bailey-Sobers, Shelia Seecharan, and Deputy Permanent Secretary Vijay Gangapersad; conducted several meetings and visits to various stakeholders in the Point Fortin area.
The Minister’s first stop was at the office of Member of Parliament Kennedy Richards, where a meeting was held to discuss matters of mutual interest in an efforts, to ensure that no one is left behind. The Minister then paid a Courtesy Call on Her Worship, the Mayor of Point Fortin and Alderman Saleema Thomas. Here, discussions were held on the various initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry to service the burgesses of Point Fortin and environs in a more efficient and effective way, and through a more responsive delivery of social services.
