Piparo rehab centre stays open during SoE

THE Piparo Empowerment Centre (PEC) remains operational despite restrictions imposed during the state of emergency (SoE) and the covid19 pandemic.
In a statement issued by her ministry on Friday, Social Development and Family Services Minister Donna Cox said the PEC remains open and continues to provide services to the resident population and the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
She also said every precaution is being taken to keep the residents of the centre safe, with new health and safety protocols have been implemented to assist in keeping the environment as safe as possible.

Minister of Social Development and Family Services Donna Cox visited Point Fortin on Monday, when she held several meetings and visits to various stakeholders in the area.
In a release, the ministry said Cox was accompanied by permanent secretaries Jacinta Bailey-Sobers, Sheila Seecharan, and deputy permanent secretary Vijay Gangapersad.
They met with Point Fortin MP Kennedy Richards Jr at Techier Road and Point Fortin Mayor Saleema Thomas at the borough corporation’s headquarters in Mahaica.
The meeting with Richards was “to discuss matters of mutual interest in an efforts, to ensure that no one is left behind.”
