Galesburg Police on Sunday, May 8th, responded to the 200 block of Silver Street for a single-vehicle accident where the driver struck a pole and was trying to leave. The incident occurred around 8:20 am. A female who witnessed the female driver trying to depart told her to stay put because the police were coming, according to police reports. Police made contact with the driver: 19-year-old Victoria Bush of Knoxville. Bush had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. After a field sobriety test showed multiple signs of impairment, Bush was placed under arrest. Bush provided a breath sample of .122 BAC. Bush asked arresting officers what her legal BAC limit was.
