Days of honeymoon over in Nollywood, new DGN president, Victor Okhai On By Benjamin Njoku Newly elected president of Directors Guild of Nigeria,DGN, Mr Victor Okhai has taken a quick swipe at the deteriorating state of film making in Nigeria, declaring that the days of honeymoon are over in Nollywood. Okahi made this remarks, while speaking after his election as the new president of the guild last Sunday. The popular film maker and former presidential aspirant defeated the likes of Mac Collins Chidebe, Yinka Akanbi and Kehinde Soaga to emerge the next president of the guild. In his acceptance speech, Okhai lamented the falling standard of film making in Nigeria, insisting that it’s no longer going to be business as usual in the industry.

PMAN, MCSN agree to work together for benefit of musicians

The Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN) have agreed to work together to enhance the living standards of Nigerian musicians and other creative people. x To this end, PMAN and MCSN union signed an agreement to ensure that they work hand in hand to achieve set goals for the music industry and the entertainment industry at large. At the agreement signing ceremony which took place at the MCSN’s head office in Lagos last week, the President of PMAN, Mr. Pretty Okafor, said that the union decided to give its full support to MCSN because PMAN and the Society have identical goals, which border on the welfare and wellbeing of the musicians.

Victor Okhai is the new president of the Directors Guild of Nigeria

Veteran Nollywood filmmaker and former presidential aspirant, Victor Okhai has emerged the president of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN). Celebrated for his immense contribution to the film industry as a cinematographer, editor, screenwriter, Okhai has worked in various sectors of the industry including distribution and film production. The filmmaker is also one of the guild s co-founders. Okhai who succeeds Fred Amata, led the Saturday March 6, 2021 polls with 100 of the 151 total number of votes cast.
