Philippine Navy says AW159 helicopters are ‘mission-capable

The two Leonardo AW159 Lynx Wildcat anti-submarine warfare (ASW)-capable helicopters in service with the Philippines Navy (PN) “are flying and mission-capable”, PN chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo told the state-owned Philippines News Agency (PNA) on 26 May.
The two rotorcraft are expected to be deployed from the service s two new José Rizal-class frigates: BRP José Rizal
(FF 150), which was commissioned in July 2020, and BRP
Antonio Luna
(FF 151), which entered service in March 2021.
However, the vice admiral said the aircraft s pilots and crew are still undergoing “mission essential and operation conversion training”, adding that the pilots have not yet been trained for deck-landing operations and integration on the José Rizal-class frigates.

New Delhi [India], May 20 (ANI): Amid the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian Navy on Thursday launched Oxygen on Wheels - mobile oxygen generation plants mounted on trailers that can easily be transported to remote hospitals.
Designed and developed by the Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam under the Eastern Naval Command (ENC), each of the two plants have the capacity to generate 100 litres per minute and are designed to provide a direct feed to any hospital s pipeline system.
The plants were inaugurated by Vice Adm AB Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief ENC.

SATUN: Authorities have seized 320 kilogrammes of compressed marijuana, worth about 4 million baht, found floating in the sea at a bay that is part of Tarutao National Marine Park.
Park officials alerted the Satun marine enforcement command centre on Friday evening that park officials found seven big packages floating of Ao Talo Udang. The packages were taken to the national park office, said Vice Admiral Choengchai Chomchoengphaet, commander of the Third Naval Area Command.
