Situation in Nuh not assessed properly: Deputy CM Chautala; internet ban extended till Aug 11

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday indicated that there were shortcomings of the administration in assessing the situation in Nuh, where a communal violence erupted on July 31 during a religious procession. The state government has extended the suspension of mobile internet and SMS services in the district till August 11, where conditions are "still critical and tense".

Assistant Commissioner of Police Varun Dahiya (Crime), Gurugram said today, "All schools, colleges and workplaces are functioning normally. There are no restrictions on the movement of traffic. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought an inquiry into alleged use of children in stone pelting and other illegal activities during the recent communal flare-up in Nuh district of Haryana. In a letter to Haryana administration, the apex child rights body has sought their urgent attention and action regarding the alleged exploitation of children in the Monday s violence.
