VHP functionary Sanjay Kumar Pandey said the yatra’s main purpose was to awaken the Hindus and to organise them for the larger cause in the face of the onslaught on their religion | Latest News India
Nuh Violence: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday appealed to residents not to participate in the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra on Monday since permission had been denied for the event and instead offer prayers in temples near their homes. But members of the VHP asserted that the procession would be held as scheduled at 11am and it would follow the usual route from Gurgaon to Nuh. The Nuh administration has denied nod for the event, but the “Hindu Samaj” of Mewat – the main organiser – says it doesn’t need any. The yatra is being organised after the previous one was disrupted because of the communal clash in Nuh on July 31. Apart from the main procession, the organisers have said jalabhisheks will be held at Shiva temples in every block of the state. The yatra – in its third year – is slated to start from Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon and culminate at the Radha Krishna Mandir in Nuh, a distance of almost 25km. Stay with TOI for all the latest updates
