This is of course one of the items that we have been working on together. Youre correct that we had a disclaimer in 2014 and in 2015. Im pleased to tell you that ginnie mae has been working. It has filled key leadership positions. It has revamped several of its processes. Improved the way that it does business. I also want to assure you that i have made it very clear to all of my staff that we take the recommendations of the Inspector General seriously. In fact, i know that yall are going to have an opportunity to meet with the Inspector General soon and he and i meet on a regular basis. Its fair to say that there are very few instances at hud, whether its this audit or others, where we are out of sync with the Inspector General. And in those instances where there is a difference of opinion, theres a concrete reason for it. So in 2014, we had 11 material weaknesses in our audit. It doesnt get to pick and choose which animals it takes in. And, so, you have a lot of animals who are difficult to adopt out. Yet animal care controls budget appears to be highly inadequate to provide the level of care that we in this animal friendly city expect for animals in need. Whether to respond to claims of mistreatment or neglected animals or to deal with potentially aggressive animals. Weve been seeing more complaints in dog parks from dog owners who state that other dogs are aggressive toward their dogs. The puc commissioners say they would not support a shell contract moving forward, but they already have. And, so, i just think its important to be able to point that out.
