NOIDA: What was supposed to be a solution for pollution, has now become a liability.
The vertical gardens set up in Noida’s sectors 15, 16 and 18 and along the Kalindi Kunj bridge three years ago to boost the aesthetics of the city and help curb pollution are dying because of neglect. The reason currently, there are no caretakers to water the plants.
Environmentalists say such gardens can become a source of pollution themselves if not maintained properly. Authority officials claim the private agency responsible for the upkeep of these gardens has been dismissed and the maintenance will soon be handed over to the gardeners of the horticulture department.
